2008 Voile Switchback

Voile binding.

Voile's free-pivot telemark binding: a lever flicked with a ski pole frees the toe to pivot up 50 degrees for climbing and locks it for descents. Full-wrap stainless-steel toe plate, enclosed ice-shedding body, Hardwire rod-and-cartridge heel and dual-height climbing elevators, about 1.36 kg a pair. Introduced in 2007 per Voile (on its website in July 2007, a new toe-plate steel and a two-year warranty in 2009). Moderate flex; the X2 is the more active version.
