Rottefella's Xplore system for backcountry skiing, announced in April 2021 and launched that autumn with Alfa and Alpina boots. The rotation point is moved back, close to the foot, for better mobility and downhill stability, and the wider boot interface adds stability. SpringPin pins on the side of the boot make stepping in and out easy and avoid snow packing, a 36 mm heel lifter eases steep ascents, and interchangeable flex plates (standard, hard, free-pivot) tune the stiffness. Works only with boots that have the Xplore sole.
