Arolla sits at the head of the Val d’Hérens below the Pigne d’Arolla and Mont Collon, and is a classic stop on the ski-touring Haute Route. Its own lift-served skiing is small and mostly easy, with a few steeper pitches, and the village webcams show glaciers on almost every side.
