At Living Memorial Park in Brattleboro, a nonprofit volunteer crew keeps community skiing alive in southern Vermont, handling everything from snowmaking and grooming to running the lift. A surface lift serves easy and intermediate terrain, making it an inexpensive place for kids to learn and for locals to grab a few runs.
