High on Dixie Summit along US 26 east of Prairie City, in eastern Oregon’s Malheur National Forest, this family rope tow first ran in 1956 and returned in 2025 after years idle. Skiers, snowboarders and sledders share the slope, and the warming hut appeared in the 1972 film Napoleon and Samantha.
