The upper terrain at Gulmarg in Kashmir’s Pir Panjal range, reached by the second stage of the gondola and a chairlift up toward the shoulder of Mount Apharwat. There are no beginner runs here: the open, high-altitude slopes are mostly steep and suit strong skiers who want big Himalayan scenery and deep snow.
