Hillberg Ski Area is the ski hill on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, run by the base’s JBER Life recreation programme for those with base access. A chairlift, a T-bar and surface lifts serve beginner and intermediate slopes, a bunny hill and a terrain park, with rentals, waxing, a gear shop and lessons at the lodge. Snow tubing runs in timed sessions, and winter weekends bring dog sled rides. It opens Thursday and Friday evenings and weekend days in season.
