Mont Brillant rises above the Centre Castor, an outdoor centre on the Valcartier military base north of Quebec City that has welcomed the public since 1993. There are no lifts: skiers skin up the mountain for human-powered descents, while the lower slopes host a free family sliding hill and a long cross-country network.
