Salmonberry Ski Hill is the City of Valdez’s community ski hill, at mile 5.5 of the Richardson Highway just outside town. A rope tow serves one gentle, groomed slope that suits learning to ski or snowboard and easy laps, with a warming hut and an outhouse at the bottom. Valdez Parks and Recreation runs it on winter weekends, Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm, and holds lessons there.
