Shizukuishi Ski Resort

Facing Mount Iwate in northern Honshu, Shizukuishi is a Prince resort that hosted the 1993 Alpine World Ski Championships. Cold, dry air from the north brings good snow, and long, mostly intermediate runs with steeper sections suit groups who like to cover ground, with hot springs and a hotel at the base.
