The car-free village of Stoos perches on a sunny terrace above the Muota valley in Schwyz, reached by the world’s steepest funicular. Lifts climb to Fronalpstock and Klingenstock, with sweeping views over Lake Lucerne and mostly intermediate pistes plus some steeper runs, including the Franz Heinzer piste named after the local downhill champion.
