The Remarkables ski area sits high on the jagged range above Lake Wakatipu, clearly visible from Queenstown. Intermediate bowls make up most of the terrain, chutes such as Alta Chute give advanced skiers plenty to chew on, and the ski field is the starting point for the walk to glacial Lake Alta.
