Deep in the Chic-Chocs of the Réserve faunique de Matane, the Refuge du Coyote is a day hut at the foot of Mont Frère-de-Nicol-Albert. Guests of the Auberge de montagne des Chic-Chocs reach it by snowcat, warm up and eat lunch there, then skin out for human-powered descents in some of eastern Canada’s deepest snow.
