Vals, deep in its own Graubünden side valley, is famous for Peter Zumthor’s thermal baths, and its ski area climbs by gondola from the village to Gadastatt and the Dachberg slopes. The terrain is a solid mix of reds and blacks with a surprising amount of vertical, and a soak in the Zumthor baths makes a fine end to the day.
