Right above Sofia on the Vitosha massif, inside the oldest nature park in the Balkans, the Aleko ski area is the capital’s home mountain and reachable by city bus. Chairlifts serve a mix of easy and steep runs, there’s a children’s ski school and club, and some slopes are lit for evening skiing.
